Corina: My name is Corina Ionescu, I’m 30 years old, and currently, I work as an investment analyst.
Corina: Hugo is a British Shorthair cat, 3 years and 2 months old.
Totopet: How did you choose this breed? What information can you give us about it?
Corina: I chose it randomly; we weren't set on adopting a British Shorthair. The British Shorthair is a docile, calm breed. They love being around their owners but not necessarily in their arms. They are also child-friendly. :)

He’s a gentle cat, attached to his owners, but doesn’t like being smothered with love too often.

He "arranged" all the curtains in the house in a few months—the people we adopted him from used to call him "Tarzan"—and after the curtain incidents, we understood why. :)
What does a normal day in your pet’s life look like? What is his usual routine?
His schedule can be summed up as: Sleep, eat, and repeat. After being neutered, he became less active.
About his diet. What type of food/diet does he have? How much does he eat? How picky is he with food?
He eats Virbac for neutered cats, about half a bowl a day. He has access to food freely but doesn’t overeat. He doesn’t eat wet food too often, as per the vet’s recommendation. He’s quite picky with food.
About grooming. How often do you wash/brush him? Does he shed a lot? How hard is it to care for his fur? Does he develop a strong smell?
We don’t wash him. We use a Furminator once a week. He sheds quite a lot. Since he's a shorthair, his coat is fairly easy to maintain and doesn’t develop any unpleasant smell.
How often do you visit the vet?
Annual check-ups and vaccinations or if there’s any change in his health.

He’s quite sensitive when it comes to parasites, so we run tests twice a year.
